I went in and seen a nice selection of baked goods and oatmeal cups. I am gluten free so I was unable to try the baked goods but I did try the coffee. COFFEE: I had the Mexican Mocha. It was really good. The barista asked if I wanted everything on it. I said Yes! I got whipped cream and a spice mix of i think nutmeg and cinnamon. It was tasty. My uncle had a drip coffee which he said was really good. I got to meet the owners who were very nice. Bathroom and establishment was very clean. Definitely would recommend and I will definitely be back to support this business.
Good coffee shop but just an FYI, they actually close about a half hour before their official "close time". That's when they start cleaning the machines.
Cherry Bean is the quintessential coffee shop for people who really love coffee. The beans are roasted just a few feet away from where you order, allowing you to see the process of coffee creation all the way through. Their iced drinks are immaculate and actually taste like coffee, and their hot drinks offer a quality not found in most coffee shops. The ambience here is calm, productive, and warm--with a dark academic feeling missing in most modern coffee shops. Often when you walk in, soft jazz and smooth soul play above, just quiet enough to promote grinding out essay without shattering your eardrums like many coffee shops do. The service here is second to none, and the baristas employed are kind, cooperative, and knowledgable. They will have no issue recommending anything to satiate whatever coffee craving you desire. I have tried around 50 coffee shops in my life, and absolutely none of them come close to Cherry Bean, especially if you are interested in a "real" coffee offering and a fresh breath from the uninspired corporate coffee scene that plagues our cities -- looking at YOU, Starbucks. I've been coming here since middle school and I am about to graduate college, and I can ensure you this is THE coffee shop you'll want to visit for any cafe desires. Highlights -- 20/24 oz. Iced Caramel Macchiato with 3 Shots any milk, 12 oz. Triple Cap w/ Caramel, Blueberry Muffin, any Coffee Cake
My favorite spot for a coffee in Old Town. Beans roasted on site, local pastries and a friendly vibe. Not sure why it got it reported closed - it's definitely open- I put the current hours up.
Cherry Bean is located in oldtown Salinas. The art inside of the place is very nice. It's a fairly big coffee shop with a large variety of teas. They have outdoor seating and high chairs for the kiddos. The restroom is clean. I had a spinach quiche and veggie samosa with some peach iced tea. The quiche was great, but the samosa didn't inspire joy. The tea was brewed hot, then chilled with ice with was tasty and refreshing. I would come back. Price: $16
